What specifically is included in EvoSHIFT?
Your investment includes the entire 12-week hybrid EvoSHIFT retreat program, including
The medical-psychological screening
- Six virtual group sessions for preparation and integration
- The complete and unique on-site program including the support by 4-5 expert facilitators, faculty, medical doctors and experienced guides for a small group of 6-10 people
- Our signature curriculum featuring insights from developmental psychology and mindsets development, systems theory, interpersonal neurobiology, as well as reflective and dialogical exercises and process work
- A well-balanced variety of group exercises appealing to the physical, emotional and mental level to build your emotional, somatic and relational intelligence

Please count in additional costs for your personal travel to and from the retreat center in the Netherlands and costs of around 50€ for the psilocybin truffles which, for legal reasons, you need to purchase yourself from a licensed provider in the Netherlands.
Where does the retreat take place?
The 4-day on-site retreat part of the EvoSHIFT program will usually take place in a comfortable and exclusive retreat center situated around 30-90 car minutes from Amsterdam.
The facilities offer a relaxing and private atmosphere with ideal conditions for deep work.
How can I get to the retreat?
We offer our retreat programs at different locations in the Netherlands.
We will get in touch with you regarding your logistics as soon as you have been admitted to our program.
You can either arrange your own travel or we can assist you with personal airport transfers that you can book in addition to your retreat slot.
Where will I sleep?
All participants will be housed in simple but high-quality private rooms. Shared rooms might be offered to scholarship participants.
What do I need to bring?
You will receive a detailed list of items to bring. In general, please bring enough comfortable clothes for physical activities such as yoga & meditation, as well as warm clothes and shoes for outdoor walks.
You may bring a small personal object (e.g. a family photo) that you might want to take with you to the ceremony.
Notepads and pencils as well as all workshop material will be provided.
Is the retreat legal?
In the Netherlands, psychedelic psilocybin-containing truffles are legal. You can buy these truffles from authorized vendors (e.g. smartshops) in the Netherlands. In contrast, psychedelic mushrooms were classified as a scheduled substance in 2007.
Is the retreat safe?
The truffles you consume for ceremony contain the psychedelic molecules psilocin and its phosphorylated counterpart psilocybin. Once ingested, psilocybin is metabolized by the body into psilocin, and then unfolds its serotonergic effect – what people usually refer to as “the trip”. Clinical evidence shows that psilocybin is a physiologically safe substance with no known addictive effects and virtually no toxicity (e.g. see here). Still, there might be certain conditions (some physical / mental diseases and medications) that might make it less safe. In our assessment prior to admission, we do our best to make you aware of any risks factors so that you can make an informed decision.

Assessment:
We undertake a physical / mental health screening via an online questionnaire and a screening call to minimize the risk of any potentially adverse health-related outcome. The application process and our programs are not designed to diagnose, make medical recommendations, or offer treatment solutions. However, for your safety, we may determine that a participation in our programs is not advisable. The motivation of screening process is to assist you in understanding potential risks of participating in Evolute programs. Please note that the screening does not aim to reach any final conclusions about whether it is safe for you to participate in our programs. Only you and your medical doctor and/or other medical professional can make that determination.
Preparation:
Participants will learn about a responsable approach to working with psilocybin-containing truffles (risk and harm reduction). Latest scientific evidence will be presented about the potential upsides and downsides of using psychedelics. In addition, they will receive guidance in how to navigate during states of altered consciousness. You will receive 1-on-1 coaching to get the best possible preparation.
Facilitation:
The psychedelic ceremonies, where you may decide to consume your own psilocybin-containing truffles, are supervised by experienced facilitators. Our experts give you enough freedom to make your own steps and will be always at your side in case you need their support.
Integration:
Psychedelic experiences with psilocybin-containing truffles can be very profound and feel seismic. Journeyers can go through intense emotions days and weeks after their ceremony. This is why we crafted an integration program that will help you incorporate your insights into your life in a sustainable manner. You will receive 1-on-1 coaching to get the most out of your journey.

Before deciding to join any programs provided by Evolute Institute, it’s essential that our Retreat Application Guidelines are comprehensively understood.
At Evolute Institute, our programs cater to individuals who are on a quest for personal evolution and growth. Our offerings are geared towards those who, for example, wish to enhance their self-knowledge, re-orient in their life at transition points, or deepen their connection with self, others, and the world. Our programs are also suitable for those wishing to explore spiritual domains, and rekindle their creative flames.
The programs offered by Evolute Institute are designed with the intention of providing an educational and developmental experience. Our offerings are not tailored for those who are in need of clinical therapy or looking to replace their clinical therapy sessions. They should not be used as a replacement for professional psychological or therapeutic assistance. What’s more, the minimum age for application is 25 years.
