What does psilocybin retreat safety actually mean?

In practice it comes down to four questions, and they are separable. A provider can be strong on one and weak on another, which is why a single reassuring claim tells you very little.

• Eligibility. Who decides whether you can participate, on what evidence, and what rules you out entirely.
• The product. What you actually ingest, how much active compound is in it, and whether that quantity is measured or assumed.
• The room. How many trained people are present, what each is authorised to do, who stays sober, and what happens if more than one person needs help at once.
• Afterwards. Who contacts you when you are home, what they screen for, and where they refer you if something exceeds their scope.

What Evolute commits to

Four specifics, stated plainly so they can be checked rather than taken on trust:

• A auktoriserad psykiater makes the final medical and psychiatric decision for every EvoSHIFT participant, after a written questionnaire and an approximately 40-minute private interview. Not a facilitator, not an intake form, and never overridden for commercial reasons.
• A Medical Doctor is physically present in the ceremony space throughout the psychedelic session.
• EvoSHIFT maintains a Förhållandet 1:2 mellan facilitator och deltagare or better during the session, with 4 to 5 participant-support facilitators for cohorts of 6 to 10.
• From Q3 2026, the psilocybin concentration of the truffle batch used at each retreat is measured directly, and doses are set in milligrams of psilocybin rather than grams of truffle.

None of that makes a retreat a clinical setting, and we do not claim it does. EvoSHIFT is a non-clinical, evidence-informed personal development programme operating with legal psilocybin truffles in the Netherlands.

Am I eligible, and if not, is there another route?

Certain conditions and medications rule out a psilocybin session entirely, with no individual exception, and some reasons to wait are about timing rather than medicine. How much psilocybin will I actually take?

Potency varies between strains and batches, and the weight of the truffles will not tell you how much active compound they contain. What standard should any provider be held to?

We co-authored and published an evidence-graded standard covering ten domains across three phases, from screening through to alumni community, with each standard labelled by the strength of evidence behind it. The psilocybin retreat evaluation framework is released under CC BY 4.0 so that other providers, researchers and prospective participants can use it freely. How does Evolute report against that standard?

Publishing a standard and meeting it are different claims. The EvoSHIFT provider self-disclosure works through the same ten domains and reports where we consider ourselves strong and where we do not: nine domains at strong practice, one flagged for verification, none at stop. It is a self-disclosure, not independent certification, and it says so.
